SAY HI TO AXEL

I've been Motormouth's side kick for 10 years and I love it.  I get all the dog treats I can eat, plus most days I get to ride in the front seat.

I'm a 9 year old shepherd/lab combination. I came from a litter of two pups, one boy one girl, most people think that I am a male dog, I sure have them all fooled. My full name is Axel Rose! Not the kind of name you would give to a male dog.

My character traits indicate that there may have been a mix up in the gene pool since there is nothing dainty about me by any means. I am considered to be somewhat of a “Tom Boy “ My people Grandma calls me the “wrecking machine “just ask her about her knee sometime.

I love dog cookies and long messy walks, you know mud and stuff; the more mud the better I like it. My favorite past times are chasing squirrels and of course cats if they are willing to participate. I find cats to be rather boring unless they decide to run away from me, I would never hurt them, but I don’t tell them that!

But my most favorite thing to do is eat donuts. Can't get enough of em'.  My owners don’t think it’s a good idea to give them to me, but I just give a bark and a sad face and I get all I can handle. I believe that it is Ok for me to have donuts, since they are considered the other white meat! That would make them a healthy snack! arf arf. You know what they say about too much red meat these days.

One of my all time favorite snacks “Ronies” small pepperoni sticks, they taste great! I have a very keen sense of smell when it comes to snacks, and I have found that I can be very successful at obtaining snacks from my owners if I pay close attention to them and listen well, and also give them my lost puppy dog look. Some of my other favorite snacks include: peanuts, peanut butter cookies, jelly beans, cheese and bacon of course. I almost forgot marshmallows! in season of course.

Enough on snacks for now let me tell you what I look like. I have one floppy ear and one ear that stands straight up like a small satellite dish .My floppy ear is the result of my brother playing tug of war with it when we were pups. My tail has a distinct kink to it, this issue was caused by my momma stepping on my tail when I was no more than a small handful, so I am told.

I love to hang out in the Car Connection Workshop while Motormouth is spending time tinkering with mechanical stuff!  All of the noises and smells don’t bother me at all, I pretty much feel at home in the workshop, there are usually snacks and that might just have a little to do with how comfortable I feel there. My duties in the shop are pretty basic, don’t get under foot, meet and greet everyone and thoroughly inspect them to see if they are carrying goodies.

I have my favorite spot to have my dog naps, however keeping my tall ear fine tuned while I am  sleeping is important, one must keep a sharp ear for the krinkling of wrappers or you might just miss out the opportunity to sample the goods if you know what I mean! Motormouth tells me that I snore louder than his air gun! But I don’t believe that.

Motormouth tells all of our listeners that to sum Axel up in a nutshell, she is a funny furry donut eating machine and they love me just the way I am. A work in progress! I must admit that they are pretty much right on in regards to what they say about me. I do tend to get into mischief every now and then, that’s when the sad puppy dog eye thing comes into play, it gets to them every time!
