A Memorial & Tribute To My Long Time Faithful Friend and Companion!!

                                                           Axel “Rose”

Many of you may or may not know that Axel was not a made up character to fill a role in our Car Connection Workshop heard on the Airwaves each week for the last 15 years.

Axel was a real as the nose on your face!! For many years Axel played a BIG part in bringing smiles to peoples faces where ever she went and getting into mischief along with her sidekick Motormouth!

It is with deep sadness and a broken heavy heart to tell you all, that I had to say good bye to my furry donut eating machine  February 14 2011 (Valentines Day) Axel lived to be a ripe old age of 14 and change! She was very active and showed no sign of her batteries running down what so ever. I woke up the morning of Feb 13th 2011 to find Axel in a bad way health wise. Normally Axel would come to my bedside to wake me up with her cold wet nose as if to say hey buddy it’s time to get up dude! I gotta go!!

Many may not understand the delay in telling you this about Axel but I needed some time to get used to her not being there for me each day. Being a pet parent for so many years brings an attachment I can’t even begin to explain to those who have never had pets.

The unconditional Love dogs have for their master is remarkable and very touching.

They count on us as their master to provide for them meals and lots of love and attention!

Axel stole my heart many years ago as soon as I saw her as a pup it was love at first sight, she seemed to be just the right fit to fill the paws of Car Connection’s mascot…..and best friend Motormouth!

I have been through a lot of “character” building moments and challenges over the past couple of years that seemed like nothing compared to losing my best friend Axel. My world had been shaken and shaken hard. Coming home to an empty home after so many years of having Axel around was awful to say the very least ! I sure miss her lemme tell ya!

However there is a season for everything in our lives and we MUST move on keeping the memories alive in our hearts and souls of all those we cared about! To me Axel was a “people” my “bud” Axel you will forever live in my heart now and always Thank You for the Unconditional Love you gave me all those years and for being there to greet me at the door with your broken tail wagging 100 miles an hour!! You always knew when I was hurting and needed some additional TLC. Your gone BUT never forgotten my friend.

I raise a Donut every week in honour of you my furry friend!!

On November 11 2011 ( Rememberance Day) Axels sister Dinky past away at the ripe old age of 15 and change. They had been inseparable for over 14 years always together seldom apart! I can’t help but to think what Axel must have been feeling not having her sibling by her side night and day to keep each other company! I often wonder if Axel may have died of a broken heart! She never seemed to be quite herself after her sister dinky passed on! Dogs are truly “Man’s Best Friend.”
